Haiku in Triplet

Shadows lengthen now
The sun sits upon the hills
Night falls suddenly


Caught fast, in the dark
Helpless creatures seek safety
Death waits, but how long?


The moon falls from sight
The shadows slowly recede
Daybreak holds promise
